The host of the recently-concluded Miss Universe 2015 coronation night who mixed-up the results of the pageant has apologized.

Steve Harvey took to Twitter to apologize to beauty pageant fans for his mistake, but not without committing other mistakes as he spelled Philippines and Colombia wrong.

“I want to apologize emphatically to Miss Philippians and Miss Columbia. This was a terribly honest human mistake and I am so regretful,” Harvey said.

He has since erased his tweet.

Harvey mixed up the results of the pageant as he announced that Miss Colombia Ariadna Gutierrez won the pageant but later apologized as Miss Universe-Philippines Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach was the rightful winner.

The host then claimed full responsibility for his mistake.
“I take full responsibility. It was my mistake. It was on the card,” he said.

The card containing the results of the competition was even flashed onscreen to erase any doubts on the results of the prestigious pageant.

Wurtzbach ended the 42-year title drought of the country and is the Philippines’ third Miss Universe.

Miss USA Olivia Jordan was hailed 2nd runner-up. IDL
