Presidential aspirant and senator Miriam Defensor Santiago has expressed her desire to talk to newly-crowned Miss Universe 2015 Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach when she returns to the country.
Santiago congratualted 26-year-old Wurtzbach on her victory on Twitter.
“Congratulations, @piawurtzbach! You are regal. But from what I’ve heard, we need to talk. See you! #MissUniverse2015,” the post read.
The senator seems to be referring to the beauty queen’s answer during the first round of the question-and-answer portion where the top five candidates answered burning social issues in their countries.

When asked on her stance on the reestablishment of United States military bases in the country, Wurtzbach said that she does not find a problem with it.
The Filipina beauty said that the Philippines and the US have always had a strong relationship with each other.
“I don’t see any problem with that,” Wurtzbach said.
The feisty senator is a staunch opponent of US military intervention and establishment of American military bases in the country.
Last year, she said that the Visiting Forces Agreement forged by the two nations in 1998 as “a failure.”
This year, she also crafted a resolution assailing the constitutionality of the Enhanced Defense Cooperation Agreement (Edca) between US and the Philippines. The senator said that the Edca is unconstitutional as it needs the concurrence of the Senate before it could be enforced. CDG
