MANILA, Philippines—Award-winning cultural essayist and advocate Felice Sta. Maria will handle the Filipinas Heritage Library’s Cultural Work 101 workshop on March 1, 2012. Sta. Maria was the first recipient of the Dangal ng Haraya for cultural management, a lifetime achievement award from the National Commission for Culture and Arts. She actively champions her philosophy for social transformation through her work and writing.

Cultural workers from all fields are invited to attend this workshop, to gain a better appreciation of how all kinds of cultural work can translate to civic action. Through class discussions, personal reflections, and other learning methods, participants will learn how to better contribute towards the sustainable development of individuals and society.

Cultural Work 101 will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Reading Room, Filipinas Heritage Library.
