MANILA, Philippines–Janine Tugonon arrived in Manila Saturday after winning the first runner-up spot in the Miss Universe pageant.

Tugonon landed at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport at around 6 a.m. via a Philippine Airline flight from Las Vegas.

It was  Miss USA Olivia Culpo who bagged the crown at the 61st Miss Universe pageant held at the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino in Las Vegas on Wednesday night (Thursday morning in Manila)

Tugonon came in second, while Miss Venezuela, Irene Sofia Esser Quintero, placed third.

Rounding up the Top 5 were Australia’s Renae Ayris, who placed fourth and Brazil’s Gabriela Markus, who placed fifth.

Tugonon’s first runner-up finish marked the third straight year that the Philippines finished in the pageant’s Top 5. Last year’s Miss Philippines, Shamcey Supsup, placed fourth, while Venus Raj finished fifth in 2010.

Dapat yung mga ganitong article na wala namang issue di na dapat pinapayagan ang comments. Kawawa naman tong si Janine. She doesn’t deserve the comments here coming from lowlife dregs.

Bastos din ako pero ang binabastos ko, yung mga tipong deserving bastusin like our ‘honrobles’ in the governments and the likes.

Mr. Donald Trump has already given the American people something to be proud of..anyway they need it to boost the morale of the American people in the midst of economic hardship their experiencing now. Third time they cheated the Filipino..American Idol..Pacquiao Bradley fight…and now this..coincidence, dont  you think. Two of them held at the “Cheating Capital of the World” Las Vegas Nevada..They cannot afford to loose only to a Filipino. To us, Ms. Janine Togonon is the true winner of Ms. Universe..Congrats..
