Children of the Fort


A drug lord was going to be executed that dawn. In the stillness of that morning, we heard the volley of shots. They sounded like they were coming from my headboard. I learned later in the day that a man was sentenced to death by firing squad, and it happened in the target shooting range, a 15-minute walk from our house. No wonder.

In the last two weeks, I have been frequenting the Fort Bonifacio area. It is here where many new dining places have opened. It has become a playground for a lot of chefs offering various cuisine, all wanting to do business in this hungry and curious market.

Old war tunnel in Bonifacio Global City to become historical site


An old war tunnel in Bonifacio Global City, formerly part of Philippine Army headquarters Fort Bonifacio, will be turned into a historical site in recognition of the history of the former military base, the Bases Conversion and Development Authority said Thursday.
