The hallucinatory images of Maria Candida Flores will be seen again in her second solo exhibit “Fluidity,” which opens Nov. 12 in Gallery Nine at SM Megamall.
The artist describes her works as impromptu-painted trance portraits. Favorite and recurring images include the human figure bending and flowing as if melting.
The pieces have been roundly assailed by critics for their fantastical imagery and bold decorative style.
But the style has grown even more experimental, as the artist explores new horizons and begins a journey which would further refine her fluidity.
