“When the pandemic hits you hard, lockdown reaches more than five months, and you’ve got nothing but each other to count on, you dance like no one is looking,” writes Panaderya Toyo on their Instagram.
Panaderya Toyo and Gallery by Chele decided to bring some cheer to their operations by adding music—Cyndi Lauper’s “Time After Time” and The Blues Brothers’ “Everybody Needs Somebody to Love,” to be exact—and dance. Their videos, which are posted on their Instagram, demonstrate that even in times of hardship, high spirits and camaraderie can do a lot.

“So cool. Now we know why your bread is delicious. Happy bakers,” reads a comment on Panaderya Toyo’s post.
Chele Gonzalez of Gallery by Chele challenged everyone in the industry—chefs, restaurateurs, and all members of RestoPH—to start each day with positive energy.
“Let’s bring positivism back. Let’s make everyone understand the importance of our industry to many people and do what we do best—hospitality,” says Gonzales.
