The Department of Literature of the University of Santo Tomas invites artists, art enthusiasts, academicians, practitioners, researchers and students from both public and private schools to attend Siningcuentro 2014: A National Conference on Arts and Literature, on April 21-23, at UST Alfredo M. Velayo College of Accountancy Multipurpose Hall.
With the theme, “Rediscovering Philippine Arts and Literature Through an Encounter with the Masters,” the conference aims to provide an avenue for teachers, artists, writers and art enthusiasts to deepen their understanding of the different art forms through a lecture-demonstration by such iconic artists as Lisa Macuja-Elizalde (dance) Raul Sunico (music), Maryo J. de los Reyes (film), Michael Blanco and Jun Martinez (painting), Luis Ac-ac (sculpture), Amihan Ramolete (theater), Michael Coroza (literature) and Jeffry Canoy (broadcast arts).
Chris B. Millado, vice president and artistic director of the Cultural Center of the Philippines, will deliver the keynote lecture.
