MANILA, Philippines—Companies in the Philippines are urged to start coming up with strategies on how to take advantage of the single Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean) market as the region is on track to meet its goal of economic integration by 2015.
The Asean Economic Community will present investment opportunities for Philippine companies not only locally, but also in member states.
With this in mind, local companies should start understanding and formulating strategies to capitalize on what is essential to the Asean member countries’ transformation into a single market and production base with the free movement of goods, services, labor and capital.
For the food sector, the Philippine Food Processors and Exporters Organization (Philfoodex) Inc., will lead the way, through the Philippine Food Expo, of ensuring that its member companies and exhibiting participants will be exposed to the various opportunities, as well as challenges, that the upcoming AEC might present.
The 12th Philippine Food Expo 2014 is scheduled on May 16 to 18 at the World Trade Center. It will highlight the changes in the food industry that an economically-integrated Southeast Asia will bring and how local food players can take advantage of these changes to remain competitive.
Having solidified its reputation as the number one sourcing venue for Filipino food products, the Philippine Food Expo is a must-visit event for everyone, from the daily Filipino consumers to international traders and importers of food products. It takes a further step in being true to its commitment as the “Only All-Filipino Food Show” in the country with a series of technical and business sessions, product demonstrations and special events that will be conducted during the three-day gathering.
The Philippine Food Expo is organized by the Philippine Food Processors and Exporters’ Organization (Philfoodex) Inc., in cooperation with Philexport, PCCI, CACCI, Bureau of Agricultural Research, National Food Authority, Department of Trade and Industry, Far Eastern University, Haier, Markes, PASI, BCS Systems and Technologies, Pinoy Tender, Mix it Up, St. Paul – Quezon City.
