First ever Philippine Photo Festival to start this May

MANILA, Philippines—The first ever Photo Festival is all set to happen in 10 various locations all over the country featuring Philippines’ finest sceneries, festivals, people, culture and heritage from May to December 2014, presented by PPSC Professional Photographers Service Cooperative and AD8 Film and Multi- Media Distribution Philippines in cooperation with the Pasig City Museum.

This grand event is conceptualized to promote Philippine tourism, photography, livelihood and skills development to aspiring, hobbyist and professional photographers, introducing the latest techniques, products and skills to further enhance their craft in capturing outstanding and breathtaking still photos and videos infusing the latest technologies.

The unveiling this GRAND EVENT will be at one of Pasig City’s Heritage Site – The Pasig City Museum on the 30th of May, 2014 at 6:00pm. Following the grand event are series of Photography Workshops and Competitions featuring the vast Culture, Heritage and People of Pasig City as the first CITY to be featured in the Festival.

Finalist from the different competitions “FLORES de MAYO and ARAW ng PASIG” will represent PASIG CITY and compete with other entries from the following Cities and Provinces. (Pasig City Entries / finalist will be presented in all Provincial tours)

CAGAYAN De ORO: Kagay-an Festival (August)

SANTIAGO ISABELA: Destination North (September)

TALISAY CITY, Neg. Occ.: Minuluan Festival (September)

BACOLOD CITY: Masskara Festival (October)

CAMIGUIN ISLAND: Lansones Festival (October)

PUERTO PRINCESA, Palawan: Palawan Nature Camp (November)

DUMAGUETE CITY: Sandurot Festival (November)

All participating Cities along with its Official Photo Entries will be featured during the Philippine Photo Festival Summit on December 8 to 10, each City (LGU) shall exhibit their photos in their respective EXHIBIT BOOTH at the Festival Trade Site – Festival Summit Venue.  Finalist and Winners will be receiving Photography Business Showcase, 3D 2N Asian Destination Tour Package, Photography Technical Training Scholarship by PPSC and Gift Packs from sponsors as prizes plus Trophy and Plaque.

Along with these series of festivities, there will be workshops in universities and colleges nationwide and competition for professional photographers with themes advertising, fashion, heritage, narrative, tourism, and wedding.
