MANILA, Philippines–Well-paired food and drinks make for a good lunch. Add on a matching scent, witty conversations and wine, then you have an awesome party.
Society sweethearts recently attended the exclusive Downy #Instaswitch Experience event. It was a chic pink-themed lunch in an elegant home where they enjoyed a rich spread of Creamed Truffle Chicken, Crab Fat Paella, Pan-Fried Grouper—items from Trish Panlilio’s nawwTy’s Kitchen custom-catering menu.
Guests Rorie Carlos, Mandy dela Rama, Small Laude, Pia Ongsiako, Joy Ortega, Nicole Ortega, Joanna Preysler, Charina Sarte, Tess Villareal and INQUIRER parenting columnist Audrey Zubiri enjoyed the luxurious lunch with host Mons Romulo. Aside from the special home-cooked food, the floral scent coming from the dining table caught their attention.
Over Aubergine Lasagna and wine, Downy brand manager Nicole Villarojo explained that the table napkins were treated with Downy Innocence fabric conditioner, a floral variant of the brand’s Parfum Collection.
The women then gamely participated in an activity that showed how Downy’s Scent Switcher Technology works. They were asked to smell the napkin, rub it and smell it again. They said the scent, indeed, changed.
“Downy has perfume micro-capsules. These super tiny perfume capsules are deposited into the fabrics as they are rinsed with Downy,” Villarojo explained. “The touch- activated micro-capsules burst as you rub clothes, letting off a fresh scent.”
Downy Parfum Collection comes in “Innocence,” “Passion,” “Happiness” and “Mystique” scents. Each variant has two kinds of perfume micro-capsules which alternately burst as you rub them, allowing one to switch scents with a touch.
Global brand P&G makes Downy, along with popular perfumes such as Gucci, Hugo Boss and Lacoste. The Downy Parfum Collection is formulated to complement one’s perfume and cologne, and not clash with them.
Innocence toggles between floral and musk. It is a soft scent ideal for her baby, said Ongsiako.
Zubiri said the lasting scent is fit for clothes for active kids. “The changing scents are a pleasant surprise, and my son would still smell great after playing outdoors when I hug him.”
Joy suggested using them on car covers, sheets and blankets since the scent lasts for up to three weeks.
The women discussed over dessert of Cherry Buco Pandan and Warm Maple Apple Crumble how scents can bring in positive vibes. The Scent Switcher feature surprised them, as well as the Hermés scarf each received as a thank-you token.
A scent can complete the whole dining experience as Panlilio showed in her set-up. Downy Innocence went well with the pink candles, flowers and balloons, even the surprise pink cake for Laude who was celebrating her birthday that day.
Trust these women in choosing a good scent to work up a good mood.
