Vicki and Hayden: ‘Meant to be’

The Lhuillier golden wedding anniversary in Cebu last Aug. 2 (see related story on D1, this issue) could be considered the coming out of eternally-in-the-news couple Dr. Vicki Belo and Dr. Hayden Kho (he got his medical license back).

The on-again-off-again-on-again relationship of this handsome couple has been regular dish in media and lunches for some years now.

In the Cebu wedding reception and in the Lhuilliers’ private dinner the night before the celebration, the couple was cozy. When asked about their renewed relationship, Belo told a friend, “Meant to be.”

Recent events proved to have lifted the spirits of Kho. He has turned to biblical and spiritual studies and just came from a study on divinity (“apologetics”) in England.

Two months ago, he invited to the Philippines noted Christian “apologists” Dr. Ravi Zacharias and Stephen Baldwin to give inspiring talk.

Asked if he would resume his medicine practice, Kho couldn’t say for sure. What he is certain of is he wants to continue his evangelical activities and to pursue projects that put him in touch with people, such as hosting stints. Whether he likes it or not, the spotlight is always trained on him, so, he says, he’d better use his influence for the good.
