Pinoy teens and self-discovery | Lifestyle.INQ

OCTOBER 27, 2022

Unilever Philippines kicked off #TeenWeekPH 2014 recently at SM Aura’s SMX Convention Center with excitement.

The campaign involved visiting 250 schools nationwide. From Sept. 29 to Oct. 3, organizers proceeded to educate, support and motivate Filipino teens on their hygiene habits to build confidence and self-esteem.

Speakers included Elmo Magalona, Coleen Garcia, James and Phil Younghusband, Laureen Uy, Tricia Gosingtian, Binibining Pilipinas 2014 winners and some “Pinoy Big Brother” stars.

Ideas, opinions

Apart from listening to talks and seminars on personal hygiene, students themselves were asked to voice out their ideas. Through a crowd-sourcing activity done on the Teen Week PH Facebook page, they shared their opinions on this year’s theme and chose the activities they wanted to experience in the event.

The five-day event covered various topics.

First, #MoveUpMonday focused on the physical and emotional changes that adolescence brings.

Then #TransformTuesday highlighted beauty and self-esteem, while #WorkItWednesday showed teens how to develop their talents and ultimately build their confidence.

Meanwhile, #ThinkBigThursday inspired teens to dream big and to be brave enough to pursue them.

Lastly, #FutureFriday encouraged them to create strong friendships that would last a lifetime.

Teen life may be tough, but every part of it is a challenging puzzle to self-discovery.

For five days, Teen Week PH served as a buddy that remind the youth that the road to maturity is paved with lots of new things to learn from.

In partnership with the Department of Education, Unilever launched the Teen Week PH campaign with its consumer brands Pond’s, Cream Silk and Rexona, along with Clear, Closeup, and Master.
