MANILA, Philippines–Commercial model and TV host Valerie Weigmann, of Albay province, was crowned Miss World Philippines 2014 Sunday night in Manila.
Weigmann, who describes herself in her Facebook account as of Filipino, German and Danish descent, also won numerous special awards including Best in Swimsuit, Best in Fashion Runway and Best in Long Gown.
Declared runners up in a glittering show at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay were: Lorraine Kendrickson, First Princess; Nelda Ibe, Second Princess; Nicole Donesa, Third Princess; and Rachel Peters, Fourth Princess.
Twenty-four-year-old Weigmann was also chosen as Miss Solaire, Miss Filia, Miss Jesi Mendez, Miss Reducin, Miss Olay, Miss Bench, Miss Camarines Sur, Miss Hana and Miss Blue Water Day Spa.
The “Eat Bulaga” co-host was crowned by reigning Miss World Megan Young, a Filipina.
