Top 5 bids in Asian Cultural Council Philippines art auction | Lifestyle.INQ

León Gallery posted an impressive 100% sale during its recent Asian Cultural Council (ACC) Philippines Art Auction, its first regular auction for the new year.

 

Highest bid went to National Artist Benedicto “BenCab” Cabrera’s untitled work, signed and dated 1999, which was sold for P15.8 million.

 

Anita Magsaysay-Ho’s 1970 oil on canvas “Baskets III” was sold for P11.7 million.

 

Hernando R. Ocampo’s 1973 oil on canvas abstract, “A Sonata for September,” garnered a bid of P10.5 million.

 

For furniture, the Santos-Joven-Panlilio Sheraton Sideboard was sold for P4.4 million.

 

One of the highlights of the auction, Ivory Crucifix with Silver Cross, made of “kamagong” wood and silver, sold for P1.4 million.

 

Proceeds will go to the ACC Philippines.
