Red-hot glamour | Lifestyle.INQ

OCTOBER 27, 2022

Trust Red Cross fund-raisers Tessa Valdes and Kaye Tinga to hold the most glamorous ball this year.

Judging from the variations on the color red on this spread, from red-orange to honeysuckle pink and red-violet, Manila’s top designers really outdid themselves. And the trends were as plentiful as the spectacular show of dancers and songs that  evening, as prelude to the terrific haute couture collection of Michael Cinco.

Indeed, the fashion show offstage was as stellar as the fashion cavalcade on the ramp.

Lovely ladies from show biz, politics and high society, with foreign dignitaries, put their best fashion-forward foot, wearing sheaths and columns aplenty in the fabrics of the moment, such as stretch chiffon and silk jersey. There was a sprinkling of vintage couture. And then there were the drop-dead glamour gowns on Crickette Tantoco (in Jojie Lloren’s multicolor cutouts), Ruffa Gutierrez and Marivic Vasquez Prada (in an equestrian red coat).

It was the best Sunday night for all: Give to charity, eat a wonderful meal at Shangri-La Makati Rizal Ballroom and watch an imported fahion show, while also people-watching to death.
