We didn’t know which one was the cutest: women’s lifestyle site Preen’s neon pink signage, the round cookies or the vibrant lycra bags that were lighter than our clutches. These were the eye-catchers recently at SM Makati’s Little White Box, when friends and shoppers joined a unique shopping and appreciation night.
Spinning music for the evening was model-turned-DJ Christina Bartges.
In between bites of cream cheese-filled barquillos, we couldn’t help but let our eyes linger at the Save My Bag display.
Syd Calam shared our sentiments and said: “The brand has a really nice concept. It’s unique. I wish it had colors that were a bit more manly for me!”
Jewelry designer Candy Dizon loves the bags. “I heard about the brand two months before it came to Manila,” she said. “The fact that I have three of them says something. What I love about it is the weight. I can use it when I travel. I don’t have to worry about damaging it. It can hold a lot of things.”
Sporting her own white messenger bag, Preen managing editor Cai Subijano said the carry-on would be needed by upwardly mobile women.
For Save My Bag marketing consultant Carmina Sanchez-Jacob, the collaboration with Preen was great.
“The Preen woman is keen on being stylish and ahead of the pack,” she said. “Save My Bag is a brand associated with places that sell it to a sophisticated, well-traveled, fashion-forward person who knows how to have fun.”
Among the guests were Inquirer CEO and president Sandy Prieto-Romualdez, jeweler Macky Fah (with husband Bernard), Philippine Tatler editor at large Mia Borromeo, Chocolate Schu Bar owner Ruby Gan and designer TC Alvarez-Sibal.
Save My Bag is an Italian brand developed by couple Stefano Agazzi and Valentina Azzia in 2013. This event marked the brand’s first collaboration with Preen.
