CHERYL Villanueva Hironaka will be showing a collection of her paintings at Gallery 9, SM Megamall, Mandaluyong City, starting July 16.

“Exhibit 19” is a collection of 20 paintings mounted in antique frames that Cheryl has collected over the years, scavenging flea markets and antique fairs on the weekend, in Paris or wherever she may be based.

The series is inspired by her love and collection of antiques and her passion for home interiors and objets d’art. Her art has a recurring theme: depicting her own furniture designs in a home, a white dog, and maybe a lizard or insect here and there.

Hironaka has exhibited her work in Paris, New York and Tokyo. She’s now based in Hanoi.
