“LA DANZA” featuring paintings by Vicente Jr. R. Barretto opens Aug. 5 at Museum of Transfiguration Monastery in Malaybalay City, Bukidnon.

Exhibit is held in celebration of the 32th founding anniversary of the Benedictine monastery. It runs until Sept. 15

Galleria Quattrocento presents “Joy Ride,” a solo exhibition of resin-based sculptures by Adrian Jay Manuel.

Artist takes on the the bicycle/motorcycle as a subject for its richness of associations, a symbolic vehicle vested with meanings that resonate in the Pinoy psyche, touching on its ability to weave and maneuver its way within a traffic-locked metropolis, the way a native abilidad sees the Filipino through the travails of life’s circuitous and stress-filled journey.

Show runs until Aug. 30.

 Osterloh at Silverlens

Filipino-American photographer Gina Osterloh’s exhibition “Nothing to See Here There Never Was” is on view until Aug. 15 at Silverlens. It is composed of 14 photographic works and one single-channel video piece.

Galerie Anna presents “Coalesce,” a group exhibition featuring the works of Josue Mangrobang Jr., Josef de Juras, Jerry Morada, Julmard Vicente, Chris Magbuhos, Dansoy Coquilla, Nelson Bosita and Malyn Bonayog, who also curates the show. The show runs until Aug. 18.

Cukingan at Paseo

“Legacy,” the solo exhibition of Addie Cukingnan, opens Aug. 5 and will concurrently run at Paseo Gallery’s showrooms at Glorietta 4, The Artspace, Makati, and at the Artwalk, SM Megamall, Mandaluyong City.

The show is Cukingnan’s homage to her Chinese lineage, with works rendered in a Western contemporary idiom, thus featuring images such as sceneries of mist-covered mountains and gorges, still lifes of porcelain jars, persimmons, butterflies, lotus and various flowers.

UP Vargas Museum presents Manuel “Manix” Abrera’s exhibit, “14 Silent Comics,” on Aug. 5, 4 p.m.

Characters from Philippine mythology like the manananggal, white lady, duwende and kapre are portrayed in through stories that cast them as protagonists.

Exhibit runs until Aug. 19.

Rafael “Boy” Ramos Gozum Jr. recently opened his photo exhibit, “Homage,” at the Gozum Museum and ancestral house in Cabatuan, Isabela. The exhibit pays homage to the artist’s late parents, Mayor Rafael Maniego Gozum Sr. and Councilor Marciana Ramos Gozum.

Village Art Gallery recently held the second one-man art exhibit of Janddie Castillo (third from right) titled “Wisik.” Castillo, a homegrown Parañaque artist, featured his expressive yet figurative take on splash art. Photo shows Castillo with Village Art Gallery owners Anton and Sam Lorenzo, Parañaque City Councilor Binky Favis and wife Ella, Castillo’s wife Maricris, and show-biz couple Ronnie and Mariz Ricketts.
