Scout has just released its August issue, with MTV VJ and lifestyle blogger Aryanna Epperson on the cover.

Theme of the issue is Moving Out. “We got to talking about everything adulthood, independence and difficult responsibilities,” writes editor in chief Jed Gregorio. “Looking for a face for this theme, I thought Aryanna Epperson would be the perfect match.

“When I met Aryanna for the first time,” added Gregorio, “she showed me her iPhone case, with Zac Efron with an afro on it. ‘Zac Afron, get it?’ she told me. She’s naturally shy and her awkward humor is endearing. You wouldn’t think the same girl is an MTV VJ, while also producing her own YouTube series. In many ways she’s coming out of her shell, going out of her comfort zone.”

The cover story was photographed by Paolo Crodua, styled by Gregorio, with makeup by Sylvina Lopez, and hair styling by Eddie Mar Cabiltes. Aryanna was interviewed by Romeo Moran.

Other features in the issue include indie band Chocolate Grass, new work by collage artist Jel Suarez, pro wrestler Chris Panzer, Tokyo street style photography by Tricia Gosingtian, essays on the legalization of gay marriage in the US and the dying art of navigation, and fashion stories photographed by Shaira Luna and Cenon Norial III.
