Last Sept. 9, Madonna kicked off her Rebel Heart Tour at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Canada. Onstage she revealed the outfits that have been created for her and her dancers by Gucci creative director Alessandro Michele.
“It has been a marvelous experience and a great gift collaborating with Madonna,” says Alessandro Michele.
“Now that I have had the chance to see her working, I truly understand why she is so grand! I believe she is a true artist and I am crazy about her.”
Madonna wears an exotic gypsy outfit by Gucci that consists of a lurex-lace-and-jacquard bodysuit with an embroidered belt, short lace sleeves and multicolor trimmings, plus a black Crêpe de Chine skirt with embroidered patches and black georgette ruffles. Her Gucci ensemble has a black Crêpe de Chine and georgette shawl with embroidered patches and silk fringes, lace gloves with pleated jacquard ruffles, high-heel knee-high lace-up leather boots, and black hat with silk floral accents.
To complement the Queen of Pop onstage, dancers are also clothed in Gucci patchwork bodysuits featuring ruffles, multicolor trimmings and embroidered belts.
The outfits come with colorful floral headpieces; pleated jacquard neckpieces; lurex shrugs with pleated ruffles on the sleeves and silk flowers. The dancers also have brocade jackets with silk flowers, embroidered patches and pleated lace ruffles at the bottom of the sleeves as well as Tehuana-inspired lace capes adorned with silk flowers.
The Rebel Heart Tour will visit 20 cities in North America and 16 cities in Europe and the UK through the end of 2015 with additional concert dates in the US, Australia, New Zealand and Asia already confirmed for 2016.
