It’s no secret that volleyball superstar Alyssa Valdez is one of the country’s top athletes today—that figures because you don’t get the nickname The Phenom by doing sloppy blocks and hits. This Batangueña has definitely come a long way from being the clueless fifth grader on the varsity team to the reigning Shakey’s V-League MVP. Not only has she helped the Ateneo Lady Eagles bag record-setting titles, she has also raked awards for herself (hence the nickname she’s earned from the media and from her fans).
Alyssa Valdez may be all fierce and merciless during matches but off-court, this 22-year-old displays an intoxicatingly sunny disposition that never fails to capture the hearts of everyone, volleyball fans or otherwise.
When she’s not slamming her palms on the ball doing killer spikes on court, Alyssa may be spotted shuffling through night classes, public appearances, and photo shoots. Despite her extremely hectic schedule, Alyssa still finds the time to wear the many hats she has in her life: a loving daughter, endorser, Instagrammer, friend to her fellow volleybelles who she lovingly calls “beshies,” classmate, ninang…the list goes on, but you get the point. To Alyssa, stress is something that can be blocked and spiked out of her life.

At the press launch of her partnership with the brand, the volleybelle admitted to keeping it low-key when it comes to hanging out with her favorite people: her family.
