STUDENTS who feel like venting out their feelings about the coming national elections can do so at the University of the Philippines (UP) Fair in Diliman, Quezon City. A plate- and water balloon-throwing booth features caricatures of presidential candidates as targets.

The UP Scintilla Juris and UP Astrum Scientis’ Ballot Box booth has distorted illustrations of candidates Jejomar Binay, Grace Poe, Rodrigo Duterte, Miriam Defensor-Santiago and Mar Roxas.

Emmanuel Ventura, project coordinator, said the booth is timely since Election Day is in May and the presidential candidates are constantly in the spotlight.

“Parating na ang elections at gusto namin makita ’yung view ng UP students kung sino ayaw nila, in a fun and non-stressful way,” he said.

John Bart Dumalag, an Engineering graduate, said he found the booth appealing because it gave him the opportunity to express his frustrations over the candidate he dislikes most.

As of 10:02 pm, Duterte over takes Liberal Party’s Roxas with the most number of throws. Poe still has the least hits, according to booth handlers.

The booth will be up until Saturday and is open from 6 p.m. until the end of every show. Prices are at P10 for every water balloon and P20 for each plate.
