Whether she didn’t have enough time, or changed her mind at the last minute, or had no plans at all, pop superstar Madonna never went to Amanpulo, a high-end resort in Pamalican Island, Palawan, before her two-night concerts at SM Mall of Asia (MOA) Arena which ends tonight, Feb. 25.
The clarification was relayed by a source to Inquirer, after the newspaper, quoting an unnamed official in the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (Naia), published a report that Madonna quietly slipped into the country to “hit the beach” in Amanpulo two days before her MOA Arena shows.
The source added that Madonna’s visits to Bahay Tuluyan and Hospicio de San Jose, two social welfare foundations in Manila, on Feb. 23, were likewise not in her itinerary—but something her handlers learned about only on the day itself.
Apart from those visits, the American singer-songwriter stayed mostly inside her hotel room.
The first night of her MOA gigs—which started before 11 p.m. and ended before 1 a.m.—drew a full-house crowd.
