CCA, Manila’s Young Chefs Boot Camp offers cooking and baking basics.

 

First of two parts

 

SUMMER is the best time for kids to have fun and to explore their interests in workshops.

 

These summer workshops cover sports, cooking, arts, music, theater, and even games creation and robotics.

 

Inquirer is also having a summer writing camp and a cool “phonetography” workshop.

 

Sports

 

Taekwondo

 

Scientific Taekwondo Efficiency Program (STEP) offers classes for kids in multiple venues: Kalayaan Badminton Center in Quezon City; Grind House Pasig; and Movement Performance MNL in Makati.

Archery

 

Archery Academy has eight two-hour classes for kids 9 years old and above. Fee includes coaching, equipment rental, range fee (P8,500 for new students; P6,500 for returning students).

Yoga, sports, fitness

 

Fitkids holds yoga, dance, basketball, and high-intense exercises for kids 3-8 years old (P8,500 for the entire course).

Kendo

 

IGA Kendo Club holds classes on Kendo, the modern Japanese martial art of swordsmanship, for kids 6 years old and above. Classes cover  the basics of Kendo using the shinai (bamboo sword) in a one-month course (P2,000).

Ayala Museum’s Photography for Kids

 

Rosvic Castro will discuss topics such as DSLR vs point and shoot; parts of the camera and its uses; proper lighting; creative concepts, styling and design. Lectures will be in a classroom setting and kids will have a supervised photo shoot and photo clinic.

 

Fee includes handouts, materials, snacks, certificate, three free admission to Ayala Museum and one-day free access to library. Participants must bring their own digital camera.
