LOVE, nostalgia and haute couture are the inspirations of Canada-trained fashion designer Noel Crisostomo in his solo show for Holiday 2016 on May 28 at Discovery Primea in Makati City.

“It’s about this lady artist back in the 1930s who lived a lonely life until she met the man of her dreams,” says Crisostomo.

“But eventually her heart got broken. She left town and tried to find herself, traveled everywhere, regained her confidence and blossomed to become more beautiful and desirable. She returned for her beautiful revenge.”

There are also some Elsa Schiaparelli and Salvador Dali inspirations on the embellishments, the designer adds.

“I hand-beaded images of her mementos and vanities of her past, like lipstick, old perfume bottles, hand mirrors. It has a vintage feel but translated in a modern way. It’s whimsical and lady-like but with strong silhouettes.”

The show is on May 28 at 7:30 p.m. Call 0915-1766440.
