Adrenaline junkies, daredevils and even casual vacationers looking for a different thrill are flocking to Darwin, Australia, for an extremely close encounter with some of the continent’s largest crocodiles.

The Crocosaurus Cove’s premier attraction, “The Cage of Death,” is an acrylic enclosure designed to serve as a safety enclosure for visitors, as they are submerged to the crocodile’s aquarium to watch them go by their daily activities.

Each session, which runs for 15 minutes, allows visitors to be dangled food right above the water, while the gargantuan reptiles feast before their eyes.

The customized enclosure is then lowered into a huge tank, where they’ll get to view the massive predators up close, The Huffington Post reported.

The salt-water crocodiles which are endemic in Australia, are notorious for their fondness of lurking between  the surface at the water’s edge, while scouting for their prey.

“In the Cage of Death,  there’s little option but to cower in fear and hope that the acrylic barrier does its job,” one visitor shared his experience on TripAdvisor.

The management, meanwhile, claims that visitors need not to worry about their safety as long as visitors meet the proper age requirements and take part in a brief safety training before engaging in the hair-raising activity.

According to the Crocosaurus Cove’s website, willing participants have to shell out $126 (P6,093), while coming in with a partner will cost $190 (P9,188).
