The two-level 10,000 sq m SM Store—the 56th in the chain—combines great design and great retail. The entrance makes a statement with its geometric ceiling in perforated metal. The atrium is a memorable transition space through the colored glass panels enclosing it.

New York-based Point

Design took a more straightforward approach in designing the store, keeping the design clean and simple in order to draw more attention to the store’s merchandise. This highlights the completeness and range of brands and products in the store and their competitive pricing.
The straightforward, no-frills approach also allows the store to look sophisticated, modern and sleek.

An achromatic color scheme of white and cool grays is the base palette of the store interiors. White flooring for the aisles and light and dark gray flooring for the perimeter and center pads create a clean space for the merchandise displays.

Perimeter walls are painted gray to allow the merchandise panels to pop. While the design uses a lot of gray and white finishes, the store is anything but boring.

White and gray pair perfectly with bright colors such as fuchsia, magenta, turquoise and citron, which are used carefully on wall finishes and graphics. Wood texture is also introduced through select wall and floor finishes to add a warm character to the store.

Because most of the design elements have been kept simple, lighting becomes vital in creating a chic and sophisticated retail setting. Track lights and recessed directional lighting provide focused illumination on the merchandise, while recessed downlight fixtures provide soft lighting over the aisles.

The ground floor showcases the latest fashion trends in clothes and accessories for men, women and teens. These include global brands such as RayBan, Escada and Esprit at the Branded Accessories department.

The beauty section is also located in this ground floor as well as the Stationery and Gadget sections.

The second floor continues to showcase the latest fashion in shoes, bags and luggage, while highlighting gracious living in its Home Section. It is also a place for kids with its Kid’s Wear, Infant’s Wear, Kid’s Accessories, Character Shop, Toys, and Baby Departments. Snack Exchange is also located on this level.

SM Store is an all-in-one stop with services going beyond shopping. Shoppers can pay their bills, exchange foreign currency and avail of gift wrapping. It also has a Gift Registry.
