Lauren Kate, author of the fallen angels series that starts with “Fallen,” is back in Manila to sign books and to attend the premiere of the film adaptation of the first book, also titled “Fallen.” The film stars Harrison Gilbertson (Cam Briel) and Addison Timlin (Luce Price). Both will be in Manila as well for the premiere, but Gilbertson will be joining Lauren Kate at the National Book Store event.

The film is produced by the same team behind the “Twilight” saga. “Fallen” will show in cinemas nationwide on Nov. 9.

Amy Ewing, the author behind the creepy dystopian “Lone City” trilogy will be in Manila to hold book signing events at National Book Store, too.

The “Lone City” trilogy begins with “The Jewel,” which tells the tale of impoverished teenage surrogates with unique powers who are auctioned off to barren and cruel members of the royal kingdom. The book centers on Violet, a young woman with the power and potential to free her fellow surrogates. The final book in the trilogy, “The Black Key,” was just released last month so you will be able to have a complete set signed by Ewing if you want. —Tatin Yang
