“Divertimento,” Hans Brumann’s solo exhibition of recent sculptures, opens Nov. 29 at Makati Shangri-La Manila.

Brumann’s works are triggered by the qualities of his jewelry: exquisite, restrained, minimalist, pared-down and reservedly elegant, with nothing superfluous.

His wall-bound sculpture “Makati” makes its sly reference to the city’s gritty poverty and glass-and-steel grandeur. But it is in his abstract creations “ABC” and “XYZ” among others, where Brumann draws the appara- tus of constructivist sculpture.

Exhibit is organized by Hiraya Gallery. Show runs until Dec. 15.
