Caleruega Philippines in Nasugbu, Batangas, is holding free Yuletide concerts on Dec. 31 and Jan. 1.
Performing in the 45-minute capsule concerts are the Caleruega Children’s Choir and Caleruega Chorus, said Fr. Allen de Guzman, OP.
Concert on Dec. 31 is at 11:30 a.m.; on Jan. 1 at 12 nn.
Caleruega Philippines is the famous Dominican monastery which Chapel of Transfiguration and well-landscaped gardens are a favorite of altar-bound couples.
The monastery is also a pilgrimage site.
Caleruega Children’s Choir and Caleruega Chorus perform in the 11 a.m. Sunday Mass of the monastery. They are composed of children of employees of the monastery and other young people from poor communities around Batulao, Nasugbu.
Their education said to Father De Guzman, is supported by the Dominican friars. Musical training is provided by conductors Nick Infante, Maria Lulu Orlina, and experts from the Conservatory of Music of University of Santo Tomas.
