Jenny Kim from Korea and Lindita Idrizi from Albania won the Miss Congeniality and Miss Photogenic awards, respectively, during the 65th Miss Universe coronation day on Monday at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.
Miss Universe Organization President Paula Shugart revealed this at the sidelines of the afterparty at Okada Manila.
She said these awards were not announced during the main competition because of lack of time.
“Honestly, we didn’t have time. There was so much we wanted to fit in the show,” Shugart said.
Shugart said the Miss Universe hosted in the Philippines was her favorite so far, and the hosting here raised the standards for future Miss Universe competitions.
“The Philippines set a very high bar. I just want to revel in it for just a little while,” Shugart said.
“As everyone knows, this is my favorite. This is going to be a hard country to top,” she added.
Outgoing queen the country’s own Pia Wurtzbach turned over the crown on Monday to the new Miss Universe, Iris Mittenaere of France.
