Chino Gutierrez to play Spanish Romantic music in historic Intramuros

Violinist Joaquin “Chino” Gutierrez will mount the recital “Sentimientos,” in which he will perform Spanish music from the Romantic period as well as key Philippine “kundiman” pieces and folk songs, on Feb. 25, 5:30 p.m., at 9 Spoons restaurant at Bay Leaf boutique hotel in Intramuros, Manila.

Europe-trained Gutierrez will be accompanied by pianist Mary Anne Espina.

This soireé featuring pieces from the Spanish romantic period will complement the magnificent, still intact “Murallas” of the eastern part of historic Intramuros.

Guests will be served Spanish wines and cheese/crackers.

They may donate a minimum of P2,500 that will help finance Gutierrez’s further studies and training in music in Europe.
