Discovery Suites Ortigas and Discovery Country Suites in Tagaytay are offering a special “mom-approved” menu for Mother’s Day with scrumptious steaks and mouthwatering seafood.
The recent tasting event showcased the special menu of 22 Prime in Discovery Suites Ortigas, and Restaurant Verbena in Discovery Country Suites Tagaytay. The exclusive menu is available until May 15.
Chef Gerwin Bailon prepared 22 Prime’s most popular dishes including Chateaubriand Steak, 500 grams of grilled USDA prime Angus tenderloin served with asparagus, forest mushrooms and truffle barley risotto; Prime’s Tomahawk, USDA prime Angus bone in rib eye and potato gratin; Norwegian Salmon with grilled Tagaytay vegetables and cilantro heirloom rice; and Mixed Grilled Seafood consisting of grilled prawns, salmon, tuna, snapper, squid and mussels.
The Tomahawk steak is the definite highlight of the menu. The huge portion can easily serve three to four hungry family members. It’s named such as it approximates the shape of a Native American stone-axe.
For Verbena, chef Bailon has prepared a Mother’s Day menu consisting of Chicken Picatta dish with herb roasted vegetables, ricotta potato and lemon butter sauce; Pan Seared Prawns and Scallops with squid ink risotto; Roasted Pork Tenderloin with Pommery potato purée, roasted broccoli and cauliflower, and demi balsamic sauce.
The prawns with risotto was especially choice. The risotto was cooked al dente, and the salty, savory flavor of the squid ink paired well with the prawns and scallops. The seafood was cooked with a creamy garlic sauce that went well with white wine or champagne.
