Tokyo’s new Gundam robot statue is nearly complete and was spotted undergoing some lighting tests.
Chinese microblog Weibo user iGUNPLA uploaded several photos of the Unicorn Gundam all lit up in the evening. It is presumably undergoing tests to ensure it functions properly during the grand opening on September 24.
It is also presumed that the statue will be able to shift between the Unicorn Gundam’s standard and destroy modes. Tweets popped up, featuring videos of the horn on the head splitting apart during tests.
The audience may very well expect lots of moving panels and a well-lit robot statue.
The Unicorn Gundam, based on the anime “Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn”, is currently standing in front of Diver City Tokyo Plaza at 19.7 meters tall and weighing around 49 tons. JB
