vMeme Contemporary Art Gallery is joining ManilART 2017 with the exhibit, “The Vernacular.”

Exhibit features a mix of established and emerging artists: Ernie Patricio, Francisco M. Verano, Oliver Ramos, Brave Singh, Jay Harrold Hidalgo, Mark Villanueva, Ian Castañeda, Laura Abejo and Eghai Roxas.

“Bakwhit”

Roxas morphs images and experiences from traveling around the country. Ramos revisits images and objects from his childhood in south of Luzon. Singh explores memory and nostalgia. Hidalgo evokes images from northern Luzon. Abejo tackles the domestic scene and familial dynamics. Villanueva offers a visual metanarrative of another artist’s plight. Castañeda tackles common objects as sources of concealment and revelation. Patricio marries painting and comics. Verano goes back to an old genre as a form of renewal and reclamation.

“She Whom I Keep”

Curator is Avie Felix.

ManilART will run Oct. 12-15 at SM Aura, Taguig City.  Visit vmemeartgallery.com or call 8249454, 2384641.
