Overflowing San Miguel Pale Pilsen draft beer, loads of German sausages, upbeat traditional German and international pop music, and wildly cheering merrymakers made the Oktoberfest celebration at the Harbour Garden Tent of Sofitel Philippine Plaza on Oct. 7 a heady success.
This week, City of Dreams Manila and Solaire Resort & Casino are holding their respective Oktoberfest events with the following attractions:
The third annual October Beer Festival at the Grand Ballroom of City of Dreams Manila, will feature Filipino bands True Faith and Parokya ni Edgar on Oct. 12, along with Part 3 Band and Eye Candies.
Parokya ni Edgar joins Gloc 9 and Eye Candies on Oct. 13.
Both dates start 7 to 11 p.m.
Awaiting guests are a variety of beers such as Weihenstephaner from the oldest brewery in Germany and the world; Sapporo from Japan; Heineken from the Netherlands; and local beers San Miguel Pale Pilsen, San Miguel Light, and Pedro Brewcrafters.
The food consists of a Bavarian buffet with carving stations of roasted suckling pig, German-style roast chicken, roast pork knuckle and German meatloaf; a selection of grilled sausages, braised beef paired with a variety of breads and pretzels with butter; and desserts such as Bavarian crème, Bee Sting cake, Sacher cake, Linzer cake and apple strudel.
Exciting raffle prizes and beer drinking games complete the experience.
City of Dreams Manila’s October Beer Festival at the Grand Ballroom is at P2,700 net per person. Guests can also avail of the October Beer Fest staycation package at P12,800 net. This includes an overnight stay in a Nobu Deluxe room with breakfast for two and two October Beer Fest tickets to the Grand Ballroom on October 12 or 13.
City of Dreams Manila Rewards Club members may approach the Dream Rewards or Signature Club counter to avail of the October Beer Festival passes in exchange of required Dream Rewards points.

‘Authentic German Oktoberfest’
Solaire Resort & Casino will hold its first authentic Oktoberfest on Oct. 12-15.
The German band Tomays Spezlwirtschaft will perform traditional music and Oktoberfest favorites.
Solaire’s German executive chef Michael Dinges has prepared a family-style menu that includes Bavarian favorites such as oven-fresh Laugen Pretzel, German potato salad, Munich-style sausage salad, Weisswurst and other German sausage specialties, pork knuckles, Spaetzle and Classic apple and walnut strudel, etc.
There will be free-flowing Weihenstephaner beer, from the oldest brewery in the world which continues a tradition under the Bavarian purity law of 1516.
The celebration will be held in a tent behind the Gallery to accommodate 400 guests.
