DLSU creative writing center marks 25th anniversary | Lifestyle.INQ

The Bienvenido N. Santos Creative Writing Center of De La Salle University will celebrate its 25th anniversary on Dec. 6, 10 a.m.-6 p.m., at the Libraries Multipurpose Room, 12/F Henry Sy Sr. Hall, De La Salle University, 2401 Taft Avenue, Manila.

The full-day celebration consists of three events: “Sa Ugoy ng Inang Wika: Timpalak sa Pagsulat ng Kuwentong Pambata” awarding ceremonies at 10 a.m.; “The 2017 Symposium on Bienvenido N. Santos” at 1 p.m.; and “Legacy: Celebrating the Lasallian Writer” at 4 p.m.

“Sa Ugoy ng Inang Wika” seeks to promote children’s literature written in Ilokano, Bikolano, Ilonggo, Cebuano, Waray, and Chavacano.   Contest is organized with the DLSU Literature Department.

“The 2017 Symposium on Bienvenido N. Santos” seeks to encourage scholarship on the works of BNS. Lectures s will be given by former BNSCWC directors and writing fellows: Marjorie M. Evasco, Vicente Garcia Groyon, Shirley O. Lua, John Iremil E. Teodoro and Ma. Teresa H. Wright

“Legacy: Celebrating the Lasallian Writer” gathers together the finest and most promising La Sallian voices in Philippine literature.

Writing fellows from the 1990s to the present and other award-winning DLSU writers will read their work/s and share with the audience a few notes about writing.
