Newly unveiled Snickers Oats chocolates

Snickers, one of the top chocolate brands available in the Philippines, has introduced its newest variant, Snickers Oats.

It contains peanuts, chewy caramel, a slab of nougat, and oats. The bar is then coated in chocolate.

A single serving (40 grams) of the indulgent treat will net you 180 calories—definitely not for those on a diet, but what a delicious delight.

The brand is marketing the chocolate bar as a handy snack to eat while waiting in traffic, long lines, or maybe for your Netflix movie to load.

“Whether it’s being stuck in traffic or in long lines, everyone knows what it’s like to experience waiting and feeling hungry,” said Pek Kuan Yee, category business unit director of Mars Developing Asia. “When you are stuck in these mundane moments, Snickers Oats is the perfect snack to fill you up longer, thanks to the addition of oats to the recipe.”

Guests at the launch were served cheeseburger sliders from 8 Cuts Burger Blends. The miso salmon in the buffet spread was good, along with the caramelized chicken wings, Shrimp Aglio Olio, slow braised pork belly, and Caesar salad.

Vlogger Wil Dasovich, radio DJ and host Aaron Atayde, and musicians Robin Nievera and Zia Quizon were on hand to launch Snickers Oats, with representatives from Mars and the Snickers brand. A piñata-like box was suspended from the ceiling. At the press of a button, dozens of Snickers Oats bars rained on the ground.

The new treat is more chewy compared to the standard Snickers bar. The added oats also balance out the too-sweet flavor of the original snack bar—making it a great-tasting variant. —CONTRIBUTED
