All Star Subic, a world-class performing arts group based at the Subic Bay Freeport Zone, started holding its year summer workshops on musical theater and modern jazz dance on Monday, April 23, at the Ayala Harbor Point Mall in SBMA.
The group – created and managed by seasoned international performers Milai and Franz Imperial – has been active in training young people in musical theater, voice and modern jazz dance, particularly in Subic and in Olongapo.
“Subic is full of potential and it would be great to bring our world-class experience here and share it with aspiring talents kasi dati that used to be me,” said Milai Imperial, All Star Subic’s creative director who has worked for Asia’s theme park giants Hong Kong Disneyland and Universal Studios for the past eight years.
But this is not just for aspiring actors, dancers and singers.
Milai, an Olongapo local, said: “The lessons of the theater translate well in real life and our students become more generous and sensitive to others and more creative and confident.”
“It’s a process that we think the kids will enjoy and appreciate,” she added. “We have been doing this for the longest time, having taught for different dance and theater companies in Manila and we think it’s time to give back to my hometown.”
All Star Subic is now open for registration and only limited slots are available.
Classes will take place Mondays to Fridays.
