TOKYO — Climbers raise their arms as they view the sunrise from the peak of Mt. Fuji on Sunday, the first day this season visitors could access the trail in Yamanashi Prefecture.
With trails in Shizuoka Prefecture set to open on July 10, the two prefectural governments are calling on visitors to avoid climbing the mountain during the busiest periods of the season — weekends in late July and the Bon holiday period in August.
