Criselda Lontok is an artist in her own right, a design icon who epitomizes the personality of both muse and maker.

A former model who hails from society’s elite, Criselda has dressed generations of Manila’s most fashionable and influential women and is the beloved ready-to-wear designer of Philippine society’s upper crust.

As she celebrates her 35 years of transformative style, Criselda boldly looks forward to the future. Now she dresses the next generation of women—young, influential ladies who look up to their mothers as their own personal icons, the same women who have been following Criselda’s style philosophy since the beginning.

Precious lesson

“The most precious lesson I learned all these years as a designer is that style and comfort should never be a paradox but a fusion,” she said. “Customer satisfaction should be foremost, alongside the elegance and practicality of the designs.”

In partnership with The Peninsula Manila, Criselda Lontok’s 35th anniversary celebration was graced by Manila’s most beautiful and fashionable. Fashion mavens and loyal patrons attended the fete in elegant gowns, beautiful dresses and dapper suits.

The fashion presentation, featuring top models and lovely muses, was received with a standing ovation.

Lontok’s muses were Tessa Prieto-Valdes, Tania Fricke Lichauco, Stephanie Zubiri-Crespi, Audrey Tan-Zubiri, Dina Arroyo-Tantoco, Natalia Peña, Wendy Yuchengco, Frannie, Bea and Natalia Jacinto, Linda Ley, Marivic Vasquez, Mia Borromeo, Patricia Prieto, Zelda Kienle, Erica Concepcion-Reyes, Alana Montelibano and Rissa  Mananquil-Trillo.

The models wore accessories by Carlo Evaristo and Gerry Sunga. —CONTRIBUTED
