On Tuesday, September 4, the French fashion house announced that it will present its 2018-2019 Métiers d’Art collection in New York. The show will be held on December 4 in the Metropolitan Museum of Art (The Met), in the heart of Manhattan.
After Hamburg last year, the Big Apple will provide the venue for the next Chanel Métiers d’Art, which has been scheduled for December 4, 2018. It will be the third time that the French fashion house has opted to show a collection in New York, after the 2005 “Paris-New York” Métiers d’Art and the 2006 Cruise collection.
The 2018-2019 collection, which will spotlight the savoir faire of the Métiers d’Art workshops and the creativity of Chanel’s artistic director Karl Lagerfeld, will go on show at the Met, one of the leading cultural venues in the big Apple.
Every year, Chanel selects a city linked to its history for the presentation of the Métiers d’Art collection. Last year, the fashion house chose Hamburg, Germany, the birthplace of Karl Lagerfeld. MKH
