Galerie Francesca presents the husband-and-wife tandem of Philippine Art Award semifinalist Kiko Marquez and Christina Baltero in “Dati,” an exhibition of 21 works inspired by notions of childhood. For Marquez, whose works are depictions of glass jars encasing various objects of sentiment, “Dati” is a return to the simpler life of a childhood.

Baltero’s works depict baby dresses, and are a celebration of the youth of their daughter, as she outgrows her clothes by the month.

Through recollection and celebration, as evinced by these paintings in “Dati,” Marquez and Baltero express their notions of childhood in their own unique ways. We see that despite sharing the same studio, their ideas remain quite different.
