Make your own hotcake art | Lifestyle.INQ

OCTOBER 27, 2022

Hotcakes have become the breakfast go-to option for that perfect balance of savory and sweet, especially when drizzled with syrup and various toppings.

The hotcake cravings have expanded beyond breakfast, so  that now several restaurants serve them all day. They can be light and fluffy, and adjusted to your liking, depending on what you plate them with.

Maya Hotcakes teaches us that making hotcakes in the comfort of your own home can be even more fun when you bring out your creativity by making edible art.

Whether it’s with friends in your next get-together, or a weekend activity with the kids, this is something worth trying out. With Maya’s Hotcake Mix, you can quickly make the batter, leaving you time to decorate your tasty hotcakes.

Start by adding food coloring to the hotcake batter. Mix well before placing each color in individual squeeze bottles just to give you options before you begin decorating.

When all colors are assembled, begin drawing your hotcake art on nonheated pan. When you’re sure of your design, turn up the heat and wait for the batter to cook well enough before you flip your masterpiece over.

From there, you can assemble the cooked pieces into forming the object you wish—be it an animal, cartoon character, the beach, and more.

If you need help in getting the right shape, use cookie cutters for a more precise look. Add toppings such as fruits, chocolate chips, sprinkles or even chocolate drizzle to get those details and to get your preferred taste.

If you’re confident about your hotcake art designs and are up to a challenge, you can join the #MayaHotcakeArt contest to show off your skills and  win P20,000 worth of Maya products and a free pass to one of Maya Kitchen’s lifestyle classes.
