Students of SoFa Design Institute look forward to presenting their works in the annual graduation showcase.

To be You checked out the collections and the stories behind them.

Candice Arboleda’s collection tackles depression as energy, a contrast between freedom and restraint.

“I wanted to tackle the issue on a different perspective,” she says. “As energy through a narrative form, it slowly creeps down, then it becomes a part of you.”

It took her five months to complete her line, inspired by designers like Iris van Herpen and Alexander McQueen.

“I wanted to share my journey, being clinically depressed for some time,” she recalls, “I wanted to make a point that it is not the gloomy dark feeling alone, it is something beyond sadness.”
