The no-makeup look continues to be popular with women who want  a fuss-free, low-maintenance lifestyle. Getting the look down pat takes a bit of work, however, which is why a skincare regimen is important. Start with a clean canvas and work from there.

The Koh Gen Do brand from Japan may be known for its base products, but it also has a skincare line, including its Cleansing Water that now comes in more hygienic packaging.

“The pump dispenses the appropriate amount of makeup remover without the user having to open or close a cap,” said Shintaro Itabashi, president and CEO, at the recent relaunch. This year marks the 10th anniversary of the Cleansing Water that has been the brand’s hero product and bestseller.

The gentle “water” makeup remover doesn’t require rinsing. Users saturate a cotton pad and gently swipe it on skin to remove dirt, excess oil and other impurities, even waterproof makeup.

With 95 percent moisturizing ingredients, the product helps hydrate, plump up and firm up skin like a serum without causing irritation or leaving a sticky residue.

Reformulated

Koh Gen Do’s Maifanshi Aqua Foundation, a well-loved staple found in cosmetic kits of Asian women and makeup artists alike, recently underwent a reformulation for improved radiance, increased coverage and longer wear. In Japan, it has fans in their 20s as well as into their 60s.

Formulated with the brand’s signature Gloss Film Powder, this breathable foundation boasts high adhesion, skin-color correction and double water-repellent coating; it helps prevent white casts.

Cleansing Water contains Bretagne Sea Water and moisturizing ingredients that help protect skin from dehydration due to environmental stress.

The brand has also come out with a purse-sized Herbal Mist, which leaves a moisture-packed veil on skin. This multifunctional face mist helps relieve five skin challenges, namely dehydration, enlarged pores, oiliness, makeup creases and redness.

Herbal Mist contains Spa Blend Water, a thermal spring water with eight anti-aging botanical extracts and natural moisturizing ingredients. The face mist can be used to set makeup in the morning, or as a touch-up mid-afternoon.

Koh Gen Do is exclusively distributed by Stores Specialists Inc. and is available in Beauty Bar stores at Central Square in Bonifacio High Street Central, Alabang Town Center, Eastwood, Greenbelt 5, Power Plant Mall, Shangri-La Plaza and TriNoma.
