To cap off the year and celebrate Christmas, the youth-culture publication Scout threw an Ugly Christmas Sweater party.
Instead of hiding those itchy sweaters with tacky designs, Scout partied in them. Was it an ironic statement or just a full-on way to embrace cheesiness? It was left for every guest to decide.
The party was held Dec. 8 at Vinyl on Vinyl. San Mig Light provided unlimited beer, which fueled the staff and guests as they danced to the beats all night long.
They weren’t your usual heart thumpers on the speakers at first. The mood set by Shane Dandan was solemn, followed by a light lo-fi beat set from Babyblue.
As the night wore on, the party turned up with Pure Mind Quiet Heart, whose set included “Binangonan Hustla” and “Bugoy na Koykoy.”
Zerzac rounded up the night.
The party featured Cabin and Gift Wrap rooms where guests got to pose and take home some of freebies.
In the Cabin room, which took inspiration from the ’50s, guests got to pose in an ugly Christmas sweater, thanks to Forever 21.
The party giveaways were topnotch as well. There were bars of Auro Chocolate and rolls of Scout gift wrappers, plus fresh drops from Scout x Proudrace merchandise booth. Guests also bagged limited-edition T-shirts that were available only that night.
Scout looks forward to bigger things in 2019!
