Fresh in store at Cul-De-Sac in Podium are pieces from the MM6 Maison Margiela’s Spring/Summer 2019 collection, which celebrates the 25th year of partnership between Maison Martin Margiela and AIDES, a European organization committed to fighting HIV.
It was in 1994 when Martin Margiela himself designed the T-shirt with the slogan, “There is more action to be done to fight AIDS than wear this T-shirt but it’s a good start,” to benefit the charity. Twenty-five years on, Maison Margiela has become an active benefactor of the cause.
Cul-De-Sac is a multibrand concept store that houses brands like Versus Versace, Opening Ceremony, MSGM and Tibi, among others. It is operated by the Noble House Group, the folks behind Distinqt, Xception and Akimbo.
The space itself is a sleek, 430-sq m circular retail heaven, with some Be@rbrick and Skateroom’s Basquiat and Warhol collabs scattered around. —CONTRIBUTED
