FIRST LOOK: The products under Lady Gaga's new makeup line are "to die for" | Lifestyle.INQ

OCTOBER 27, 2022

Lady Gaga reveals the first products and swatches of Haus Laboratories, two days after debuting her makeup label on social media and through a Business of Fashion exclusive interview. Cue screaming.

Allure shares the photos of Haus Laboratories’ high-pigment products which include RIP Lip Liner, Le Riot Lip Gloss, and Glam Attack which is a liquid-to-powder shimmer. This is the way to go if ever you wanted to live out your “Artpop” fantasies.

Allure‘ reports that makeup artist Sarah Tanno is one of Lady Gaga’s inspirations in creating her line. “I love Sarah so much. She’s literally picked me up off the floor and put makeup on my face to change my whole day. I made this with her.”

Available for pre-order on Amazon and via this July 15, the collection promises to give you…use a drag queen’s voice before saying the next word…life.

Lady Gaga shared, “Makeup changed my life. I never felt beautiful, and I still have days that I don’t feel beautiful. All of the insecurities that I’ve dealt with my whole life from being bullied when I was younger, they come right back up to bite me. Then I put makeup on, and before I know it, I feel this superhero within. It gives me those wings to fly. I’m not saying that makeup is the only thing that does that, but it did that for me.”

Haus Laboratories are “show-proof”

The RIP Liner has a semi-matte finish that can be used all over the lips. The formula is consistent and transfer-proof. “First and foremost, I wanted to create the lip pencil of my dreams.” As for the name, it shows Lady Gaga’s confidence over her product, “We called it the RIP lip liner because it’s a lip liner to die for.”

Glam Attack is Lady Gaga’s answer to annoying eyeshadow fallout. She said, that it’s “…incredible because I find that with most liquid eye shadows there tends to be this dry-down that’s very cracky and can fall out after several hours, and that’s not the case with this. We’ve definitely tested these products…I will say they’re show-proof.”

Noted, Gaga, in case we’ll be spending a few hours performing in front of a big audience, Glam Attack will come in handy. Or at least when we have a long night at the club.

She also says that with the exception of a shimmery green shade called Dynasty, you can use Glam Attack on your lips. They make for dramatic highlighters too.

Lady Gaga: The Entrepreneur

Haus Laboratories has been in the making for two years. The company has 15 employees with Gaga putting on her feathered entrepreneur cap to create the products, imagery, and to get an investor for the company. It’s also a project she dedicated to her mother.

“I actually presented it to my mom. I brought her into a room filled with boards and I said, ‘Mommy, I’ve been working on something and I want to show it to you.’ She got all choked up and it was a really special moment.”

Shopping tips

If you’re ready to live by your own beauty rules, as Gaga encourages in her video ad for the brand, know that you can get Haus Laboratories products in nine different duos (two lip liners, two glosses, or two Glam Attacks).

You can also get six different three-piece sets. Every three-piece set is called a “haus” and has one of the three different products.

“I created these collections like I create a record. They have themes. They’re thought out. Everything from the shades to the different variations. Not every single one of them has the same equation of pearl or shimmer to powder and color,” said Lady Gaga.
